Damsel in Debt

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
I'm usually leery about blackmail plots, especially how they play out in romance books and manga. This one took a strange turn for me at the pool scene and after. I feel that was a big jump to do in the first chapter, especially since the protag is suspicious of him. I feel that a slower developement between the two would have helped.

Shizumu: The Imaginary Girl

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
You know when you just start thinking out of nowhere a bunch of absurd and bizarre scenarios? All of those happen to Shizumu.
They can range from funny to just plainly weird, but some are a bit amusing (well, we can say that).

Do You Take this Man?

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
My bias for not liking cheating may shine through in this review.
I couldn't really get the protag, until a bit of her personality shine through at the end. I couldn't really gauge her motivations or reactions, only a little bit with her attraction to her friend's fiancee. A question that I have is that: did she really want the affair to begin with?
I feel like as a longer one shot, or a one volume work, characters can be a bit more fleshed out, and some of the motivations can show through more.

Passions Of Little Wet Mice

starstarstarstarstar
Art is beautiful and the story is much more interesting than your cliche yaoi. This manga is definitely worth the read!

No Strings Attached

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
I read through Chapter one, and I must say, it's fast paced! The opening is quite direct, but I feel like it hits the ground and keeps running. Maybe that feeling changes in later chapters, but there's so much to explore going on in the plot, I wish that the plot took the time to show it. For example, the sentiment that the protag is feeling with feeling stuck between friends who are married and friends who are single is an interesting plot point, but it feels rushed between that, the love confession, and the proposition all happening in the same chapter.

Soft Arpegigio

I LOVE this! So cute and the characters are likeable. I wish this were longer!!

Do You Take this Man?

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
The art was nice. The story's. main character is a wedding planner with an unfulfilling love life. Iget that we're presented with her reason for cheating, but we're never given his. Was it a one time thing? I'd pass this one up.

Diary of My Daily Failures

starstarstarstarstar
The multitude of sides depicted in this manga is fascinating. Especially when depicting an illness like depression, there are so many ways to go about it and the author covers a number of them, like social life and going to work is affected by depression. The shadow/cloud chapter was especially well done.

It is really interesting seeing a manga take place during this time period. Great story.

How Misuzu Got a Leg Up

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
This is one of tose manga that just leaves me sitting there thinking ...seriously? The main female character gives in entirely too easily and it irritates me that there's the mouth says no, body says yes mentality.

The art is nice and there is kabedon foe those who are into that. Three stars for the art and the hopes that someone will report the salesman to HR

Diary of My Daily Failures

starstarstarstarstar_border
This series is an autobiography of the author's experiences with depression and delusions. The added bonus to this title cones with the realization that her perceived failures are even pointed out in her own work. While the art is very vibrant for the subject matter as far as her choice of colours, I feel like the art in this series works to take the edge off. Yes, it's bright and saturated, but isn't depression the polar opposite?

Days Days

starstarstarstarstar_border
The end of chapter 3 was so abrupt! This is a random kind of slice of life, but it has some really interesting characters. I'm looking forward to the updates.

The Key In The Cage

starstarstarstarstar
Lovely art style, reminds me a bit of a reverse gendered "The Shape of Water", but a bittersweet ending.
thumb_up 3

Kitty Kafé: Cats in Heat

starstarstarstarstar
The art style is really nice and pacing seems really good. Wish I could read more, but don't have those coins! Just when it was getting good too lol

Just didn't like the art and the plot feels rushed.

The art isn't great and the plot isn't very compelling

It's an adorable heartwarming story that really evokes such strong emotions simplisticly.

Zanmu - Labyrinth -

starstarstarstarstar
I'm not a fan of Gore, but I honestly love this manga. Zanmu is the best character and I need to know more about her. There's mystery, gore, and a look at multiple murderers. Very creative with a good art style. Highly recommended.

Cases and Then Some

Wow it’s good, and disturbing... like really disturbing and I like it.
Definitely I’m going to read whole in just one session... so yeah it’s good and I’m back to reading...

Diary of My Daily Failures

starstarstarstarstar_border
Honestly I clicked on it because it seemed intriguing, I wasn’t really sure what it was about and what I expected of it ... Then I started to read, and wow that’s really good. I really like the concept of colorful and kinda cute drawings being a canva to a story about depression- that makes nice and interesting contrast. The story itself is really sad and leads to some reflection (maby it’s just me).

Chima-san's Trinket Box

starstarstarstarstar
This is such an adorable manga! The art style is very clear and has a really nice plot. I really ship Toriko and Yukimiya! I hope they work together on their own trinket shop too!

Sinner

starstarstarstarstar_border
I find the plot really intriguing & fascinated for of the conflict that could occur. It's quite an action packed manga that really makes you think. It dives into a mind of a society that predetermines whether their people that evil. It reminds me of the church preaching that babies are born from the sins of the humans before us like adam & eve but we find salvation from Jesus. It's kinda fucked up to be constantly reminded that we are filthy sinners.

Really great manga. Good art style and plot. I love alternate, dystopian societies. I recommend to those who enjoyed Hunger Games and Divergent.

An absolutely perfect story, and a fantastic quick read. Small bits of humor intertwined with a gorgeous concept and really cute execution. The ending is just so wholesome as well.

Cooking

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
That escalated quickly. I think that the story and art work well together to deliver this. It is most definitely creepy and kind of makes me think of the ghibli style of stories. Not necessarily the art, but the way that the story is presented and concluded. Three stars because while I would recommend it, I won't be reading it again.
thumb_up 8

The wizard who came back

starstarstarstarstar_border
I was getting such Rumplestiltskin and Pied Piper vibes from this, but it was a really sweet story.

The art reminds me of something aimple like a children's book and it really suits the tone of the manga.

The Little School Nurse That Could

starstar_borderstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
I'm giving this one star for the art. It's a pretty twisted story.
thumb_up 293

Soft Arpegigio

starstarstarstarstar_border
This short about an alien girl in a quiz club has cute art and a story with an underlying premise of living life with confidence moreso than worrying about what could happen.
thumb_up 2

Open Sesame

starstarstarstarstar_border
I like this manga quite a bit. I appreciate the older art styles, but I didn't realize tis was from over ten years ago. That just adds to the nostalgic feeling for me.
There is a lot going on with the arr. It's consistent and the settings are fairly detailed.
The story isn't one we haven't heard before, but the plot makes it interesting. I can see myself spending tickets on this one and have added it to my collection.
thumb_up 8

Open Sesame

starstarstarstarstar_border
I don't normally watch old mangas, but this one turned out better than expected. The plot is getting good and it keeps me wanting for more chapters.

I Don't Even Have Time to Live

starstarstarstarstar_border
It's the kind of quirky relatable comic you can find from Sarah Andersen. It's like shining a light on those innermost feeling you usually brush off and it's funny.

starstarstarstarstar
hm nothing to say... i realy like this .

Sinner

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
I've only read six chapters, but it's pretty good so far! I love the characters and it has its surprising moments! Only wish there was more action and a bit of romance. Other than that, I recommend reading this!

Pacified Storm

realy cool
thumb_up 10

Otsbell and the Elephant

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
It's not a bad story, but I didn't really care for it. I was thinking of stopping early on, but I decided to keep reading. The thing that bothered me the most was the inconsistency in the art for Miss Otsbell herself. She's supposed to be this mean and angry woman. She never actually looked angry abd she is the only truly visually expressive character. With this medium both art and story are very important.
thumb_up 5

I Don't Even Have Time to Live

starstarstarstarstar_border
It's true that the art sn't polished, but it's not a manga like so many others out there. It's real which is why I recommend this. From the portrayal of thought processes-most of them, not eating due to lack of appetite, and just existing, he really makes it relateable. And I do feel badly for him and so many others in the comments of each chapter who voiced that they felt/feel the same way.
One good thing is that in spite of the constant negatives in the author's life, he realizes that he will eventually feel better, if only for a short time, because that's just how it works.
thumb_up 5

FALLENS

starstarstarstarstar
Enjoying reading this manga. the art is well done, and the story is compelling. It's not a new scenario -- an upper class (angles) turns a middle class (humans) against a lower class (the fallen) in a bid to maintain their superiority. However, the way the story is presented seems fresh and entertaining. I hope there will be future chapters of this series available to read.
thumb_up 5

Jose Rizal

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
Being Filipino myself, this manga intrigued me. I think the art is quite good with good shadowing and thick lines that make the drawing stick out if the page. In regards to the writing, I really wasn't feeling the narration and the quick jump to one of Rizal's defining moments in his boyhood in the first chapter - It would've been better if there was some build up to his character before - to see how the event changed him from a naive/innocent boy
thumb_up 17

Curse of the Three Sisters

starstarstarstarstar
Nice short horrific story. The drawings are really good and stylish, the parsimonious use of colors is great.
thumb_up 7

Shizumu: The Imaginary Girl

starstarstarstarstar_border
I found this to be somewhat entertaining, it's random in a sense that you don't need to expect or understand the rules of the story to enjoy it, but its not just try hard humor either. It's not exactly also something I found to be slapstick funny despite the absurd events. Also, its too weird to be a fuel for unheard of ... things, but barely lewd in an intentional sense at all, which is something new for me.
thumb_up 2

Record of Zako War

starstarstarstarstar
With only two chapters available, I'm not entirely sure what's going on in this story (beyond the title's description), but it's quite interesting. I really enjoy the art style, and hope to see more chapters soon for this manga.
thumb_up 8

Repeating Your End Together

starstarstarstarstar_border
There were plenty of references to the Steins;Gate series that caught my eye, some of them blatantly obvious, but I'll ignore those for now as I tend to like time travel stories. I'm looking forward to more back story of this character and her powers.
thumb_up 3

I Don't Even Have Time to Live

starstarstarstarstar_border
The manga has a very straightforward way of expressing all of the negative thoughts, and the straightforwardness is true to how those thoughts can work. There are chapters very relatable, however if you haven't been diagnosed with something as extreme as the main character or aren't familiar with someone who has been, some of the anecdotes can be a bit overbearing, but that is exactly how it should be portrayed, especially being overbearing towards the main character.
thumb_up 3

EQUITES

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
It's is has the typical shonen main character with the standard hothead nature. I felt that it didnt really capture my interest of something unique & wanting to invest in the characters. But it is quite action packed which was depicted well in the art style.
thumb_up 26
It is a gripping fantasy adventure that is full of mystery making it quite the page turner. The art style & colouring is gorgeous & Is full of intense action.

Pacified Storm

starstarstarstarstar_border
Solid artwork and some interesting material make for a solid start that draws me in. I don't have much knowledge about Chinese history and I still find the early plot points interesting enough to follow. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy this one, folks. At least not yet.

until my mother said that "if you wants to be a great chef, you have to know how wonderful the taste of vegetables is.

Sinner

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
Have only read 5 chapters so far. It has nice drawing and is easy to follow. I feel it may be moving a bit fast as we quickly learn things about characters. Have not gotten far enough to determine the way the manga will continue, but as of right now it is ok and is worth a read to get a feel for the plot and characters.

Zanmu - Labyrinth -

starstarstarstarstar
Wow, this one hooks you right from the first chapter. I've browsed through a couple of these free mangas now and so far none of the stories/characters have had depth. This one takes the icing on the cake. The dialogue, the twists, the characters... It's almost hard to tell who is truly the bad guy here. Can't wait for more of this!
thumb_up 0

Witch Sister

starstarstarstarstar
The artwork is a little old fashioned, but the premise of a shut-in witch solving crimes is intriguing. I look forward to seeing how magic will play a role and how the characters will interact with one another.

Sakura-chan's Box

starstarstarstarstar_border
That hit me right in the feels, man! Read this story if you want to read a short story that leaves you with a bittersweet ending. The storyline is beautiful yet short. As a reader, I expected the outcome, but I like how the author wrote and drew it!

Happy Bird

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
This one-shot is a cute story about a boy and an android girl. It's a very relaxing story that shouldn't be taken too seriously. The art definitely fits the tone of this one-shot. Like other reviewers, I definitely agree that this one-shot is a bit predictable, but, it's still good to enjoy after a long day of hard work. :)
thumb_up 4

Golden Wind, Silver Bus

starstarstarstarstar_border
Although the story was a tad predictable, it was a good read. When reading the story, I couldn't help but wonder that everything that happened was kinda like a deep metaphor for something.

The last pages were touching and a bit bittersweet.

I recommend this one-shot!

Creepy cute little story with a silly moral to make it feel like a fairy tale. The twist was good and the art was cute.
