Stories from the Shopping District

I don’t want the characters to end up together. I think Makoto is gross. I am intrigued by the story though. I’m interested in everything but their love story.

Chika's Forest

starstarstarstarstar

Do You Take this Man?

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
Seems like it's setting up some sort of conflict between the protagonist and her friend and that the protagonist feels some guilt over what she's doing, then just decides she's gonna continue and nothing comes of any of it.

Different Nation

starstarstarstarstar
Fun manga, and in full-color. I'm really digging on the world-building aspects fo the first three chapters, and seeing the plot unfold in subsequent chapters. Can't want to see about how the protagonist' natural skill affects future scans.

Chika's Forest

Looking for a nostalgic feeling? Definitely check this one out. The artwork is pretty and unique, and the story makes you question things, thus you have to read more to find out. :)

Sinner

starstarstarstarstar_border
An exciting story where one's class is decided at birth with the notion that people are innately evil. The art is a little rough at times.
thumb_up 2
For anyone who has depression, this will more or less be relatable. There are also elements of anixety as the character is always worried about people looking at him and started assuming worse of the worse. I love how simple it is so people would understand the struggles even if they don't have depression or anxiety.

Repeating Your End Together

starstarstarstarstar
I'm interested to see how another "loop" manga is going to deal with the issue of linear causality. This first chapter is off to an interesting start. Looking forward to reading more.

Patricia

The story started out a bit slow and uninteresting. However, the later chapters have me hooked on the story. I cannot wait for the next chapter.

Sinner

starstarstarstarstar_border
Sinner is a very interesting a exciting story. It makes you wonder who the real sinners are, those deemed innocent by the system or those condemned to live as outcasts.

The Little School Nurse That Could

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
The artwork was good and cute, but I wasn't into the story. The characters and the plot so far are too bland. Also, the font used for the text made it difficult to read. Additionally, some words in the speech bubbles get squished together which makes the manga look messy.

I'm not going to continue the manga because I find it uninteresting for me.

starstarstarstarstar_border
it was a weird story but not bad.
thumb_up 2

Under Duress

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
It is too rushed. There is no build up to make the reader feel any excitement when something is actually going to happen. Story is not new but could be interesting.

Super Food Bowl

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
Definitely like food wars but maybe the art could improve further in volumes.
thumb_up 2

Under Duress

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
Really doesn't go anywhere, even though I wasn't expecting much lewd, moreso a good story.

Aiming to Please

starstarstar_borderstar_borderstar_border
Wow this felt rushed with how the story progressed in a everyday life timing is important too and get to know the characters. This is one of those manga that couples can have on the shelf to read time and time and maybe know what days people go through in life.

Sinner

starstarstarstarstar_border
Interesting premise and some exploration of the concept of nature and nurture. I was a little disappointed with the execution of the first few chapters, and the main story of "hack, infiltrate, and collect parts" is boring, but the subplots that appear as it goes on, like the twins and the cake story, are really good. The two main characters are decently developed, but I can't bring myself to care for the other protagonists.

Kotonoha

starstarstarstarstar_border
The conflict is a bit forced but it's a cute little love story with nice art, perfect for a short cheer-up read!

Matching Our Answers

starstarstarstarstar
I really like the first chapter it leaves a sense of wanting to know what's next, the main characters I like so far, they seemed a lot different once older, I guess they were always ignored by their parents so it makes sense that they would do anything they want, but it just seems like something more traumatising happened to them. Guess I'll have to wait and read.

Decent illustration, somewhat original premise, and serviceable exposition make for a good read. The pacing is questionable, though.

Warm Coffee

starstarstarstarstar_border
I really like the plot, as almost always we have a main character who isn't interested in the same sex, but this time he's not only uninterested as he is a playboy who just wants to find a girl. I expect that with him being the one not attracted to guys he will be bottom, but I can't see how, since he seems more of a top person to me.

Decently drawn and entertaining story. It just can't escape certain tropes, however.

Simple fun quick read. each story is different, was kind of lost at first when reading it. Still enjoyable stories for only being 8 pages long, worth reading since its such a short read.

Aiming to Please

I feel like it jumps around from job to job with essentially the same thing happening just in different outfits and scenarios and it leaves out all of the fun. The art is ok though.

It's Witching Time!

starstarstarstarstar_border
This works incredibly well as a 4-koma. It almost feels like a stand-up comedy sometimes, but it's light-hearted. The witch is super blunt and elicits fun reactions from the other characters.

The art style is simplistic but cute. It's a very easy and relaxing read.

Zanmu - Labyrinth -

starstarstarstarstar_border
Labyrinth is a horror manga with a slight mix of comedy;it tells the story of a young detective trying to solve a case involving a serial killer that leaves their victims horribly mangled, thought it seems that the only target victims are murders them selfs.

Plot-Even though there are only a few chapters as of now,the story sets it's self up very well.

Art-The art is very detailed and pleasing to the eye.

Gore-Nothing absolutely horrific,seems atomically correct.

Characters-The background characters are pretty bland, very un-memorable.(However,I think this may have been done to draw more attention to the main three)
The main three are very interesting, could use a little depth but interesting.

Over all it''s a very promising story with a lot of potential, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel as if some of the characters could use a little work (but it's still very early on so character development may be in the works)

Shizumu: The Imaginary Girl

starstarstarstarstar_border
I like the concept and the art, but some of the imagery is unsettling. I won't spoil the aspect that made me give it four stars instead of the two I was thinking of, but it is overall a very absurd manga with some existential undertones in Shimizu's attempts to handle the things that go on around her.

I feel like the prediction idea introduced at the beginning is a bit odd. I'm all for a dark twist in a story, but it almost feels like jumping the gun. Or at least it feels that way since they only used a few pages to provide details. I wish they explained how they determined the morality rate better and how they concluded that it was the best course of action. That said, I like the art style and two main characters at least. When you get a glimpse of their backstories, it's easy to see why they act the way they do.

No Strings Attached

starstarstarstar_borderstar_border
I have to admit that I am a sucker for josei stories. This one starts off with a woman who isn't quite sure what she should be doing. Her friends who've started families seem so happy and successful in their relationships. Meanwhile her single friends want to stay free not being dependent on a husband and unable to have fun. Though she questions being marriage material, she finds herseld stuck between the two worlds. A coworker has expressed his interest in getting to know her better but seeing a man who has laid down the ground rule, "don't fall in love with me". I give it three stars for the set up in the first chapter. It may be a predictable plot, but the story is framed in such a way that it'll be fun to see how we reach the conslusion.

After 6 chapter, I can say that I love the gore but probably the dumb police newbie will never understand a thing... Read if you like episodic gore stories with linked characters, but you shouldn't hope for a "story".
