This is a gorgeous & fantastical adventure story. It has a plethora of dynamic mythical characters that have many layers to them. I want to give kudos to the Montana's wonderful world & more building.

I love this manga so far! It reminds me of Natsume Book of Friends. It's a very interesting story and I love the art style. Sometimes the transition from one scene to a new scene seems a bit too quick, but other than that it's really good. I look forward to reading more! If you like series that are similar to Natsume Book of Friends you'll probably enjoy reading Chika's Forest.

Mythical creatures, fairies and spiritual beings. Chika's forest revolves around our main protagonist, Chika, and her forest friends as she explores the magical world unknown to others. The story started off slow but it was heartwarming and cute as the readers were exposed to the different beings that lived in the forest and a glimpse into Chika's back story through Chika's adventure. Chika's forest emphasises on the importance of friendship and family ties. Definitely worth a try:)

Chika's Forest is a well written shojo manga. It creates an interesting back story, a lovable main character, and is creative in creating individualized non-existing characters. So far I think this is a great manga and worth exploring.

This is a really cute story with a nice artwork. It's not "My neighbor Totoro" - which was a masterpiece - but it gives you a similar feeling while reading. The pace is kind of slow and I'm still not sure what turn this story will take. First few chapters was more like a webcomic than a manga, which makes me feel not very invested in it - they were too much of an exposition, too closed. Although I like such soft stories at first I thought it doesn't have too much to offer except the artwork, so I almost dropped it in fourth chapter. But first longer story with Nyancy had something more in it. The artwork is really nice, the cuteness of it masks flaws of Artist skills.
I recommend this series to anyone who likes cute soft stories, about nothing.

This is honestly an extremely sweet story. The one thing I can compare it to is a indie student film, the type you feel like things are going slow but in reality a lot of stuff is happening all at once. The mystery of Chika’s memories and why they were lost is the ongoing elephant in the room without it being given to much importance and instead placing all of the focus on her discovering the forest and the magical places as well as the spirits and gods that live within. The one qualm I have, is that although the importance of people being a part of her life has been established, so far most of the important interactions have been with spirits. Maybe creating a balance between both would yield interesting results. Regardless, it’s a cute story with adorable drawings and a clear form of story telling. If I had kids I’d read this with them as a bedtime story!

The idea itself seems interesting, but there isn't much in the beginning to get you hooked. Hopefully the story picks up soon and I hope a more meaningful plot is revealed.

I really love the spirits/fairies and the girl who discovers again more and more of her memories. But I think... There's something slow or flat in the beginning (I just red the free chapters for now)
The simple art style is cute, I'll read more✨

After reading the first two chapters, it's clear that this is a work from Studio Ghibli. The mysterious, yet pleasant atmosphere that the story invokes makes me want to read further. The art is simply amazing, but it is not overwhelming. Furthermore, the story is set up so that it can be enjoyed by a wide audience. There are elements to the story that grab the attention of both young and old readers. Overall, if you are a fan of Studio Ghibli, this is a must read. Even if you are not, the story and art might just be enough to capture your attention.

The impression I get for the first part is that the story is a bit confusing, the author whilst draws beautifully, leaves many things untold, she’s there but the mother is not? Maybe I’m not engaged to the story so far but maybe the fairy will help the reader to understand too? Let’s follow a bit more of Chika and her fairy friends.

Definitely has a supernatural feel but at the same time reminds me of Spirited Away. The themes vibe together maturity and imagination well. I wasn't too into the design of the entities Chika interacts with, but I understand their importance in her life. A definite try for anyone willing to try out something new.

A cute story of a girl who can see "spirits" and "fairies". I love the designs of all the creatures, if they were made into toys, I'd be very tempted to buy one!

The overall story has been quite cute, though story's pacing is a bit odd; some of the plot lines bounce around a bit (sort of like... Adventure Time, of all things.)

Some chapters will end with a minor cliffhanger, but the next chapter will completely drop whatever was going on previously and start a new story, though it seems things do eventually come back around or things are slowly explained to the reader, but not to Chika thus far.

I'm only on Chapter 11, so I'm looking forward to reading more!

Absolutely AMAZING. Impeccable art, stunningg storyline, it give an incredible Stdio Ghibli feel to it. The spirits have their own background, theres plenty of backstory associated with each character, and the style is somewhat similar to that of My Neighbor Totoro

Too cute! A simple and warm story where the reader follow Chika into (re)discovering the magic side of the forest.
A pretty enjoyable read in relaxing times with its 'feelgood' vibe, the soft and cozy art, and the soft atmosphere.
I love this art style, it conveys pretty well the light tone set in the manga.

Chika's Forest is a simple, charming little manga, a description which might describe both its strengths and weakness. The best aspect of this work is definitely the bubbly art, designs, and overall feel, which has a unique look and some truly lovely panels such as when Chika enters the fairy market. On the downside, the characters don't feel that all well-defined, and sometimes the pacing can be a little awkward and prone to exposition. For example, in the first chapter when Chika's father is introduced, she casually drops that she doesn't like him much to the reader. This comes off as somewhat awkward because not only did Chika never indicate disliking her father before, even through so much as a facial expression when he showed up, but we don't know why she does and the author could just have easily shown us. Little nitpicks such as this hold this manga back from coming anywhere near the Studio Ghibli films that obviously inspired it, but it's still a fun read, especially for anyone

It really reminds me so much about the old classic Ghibli films! I just used up all my tickets today to read this manga, and I don't regret it. It is quite surprising though that this manga resembles Ghibli but in the same time it is its own manga, the characters are really nice and the style is soft to look at, and the fact that I only reached a certain chapter I don't feel bored at all makes me want to read more!

Chika's Forest is a soft read, something light and warm hearted to have in your mind before bed.
The story of "Chika's Forest" starts quite light and simple, but delve deeper and you'll begin to find a very magical truth within the forest. You'll be enchanted by the mountain goddess and her mysterious son, Grandpa Batata the sweet potato fairy and Hanazuke the flower monkey, and even just the everyday mortal world! The art style and story telling is reminiscent of Ghibli productions, and was clearly inspired by "My Neighbour Totoro" which is not at all a bad thing, as the character and fairy designs still breath fresh air onto the pages.
If you're looking for something quick and easy, whether you're a veteran manga reader or if this would be your first, I highly recommend.
